I just came across a good article that explains how to “upgrade” my eBay4R library to work with the latest version of eBay’s API. I have not been able to release a new version of eBay4R in over a year, so this article is a real win because now you can DIY (Do It Yourself).
Check it out: http://www.vonloesch.de/blog/Ebay-with-Ruby-and-Ruby-on-Rails
Also included is how to make Rails respect your upgraded SOAP4R (which is needed to be able to use the newer eBay API versions).

Hey Garry, I know the whole blog commenting message is a little unorthodox, but I wanted to reach out to you and tell you about an opportunity that I have with one of my clients working with Ruby on Rails. I don’t know if your looking or not but it’s a really cool opportunity with a social networking start-up that are doing some very interesting things. They are billing themselves as more then just a social networking site, they want to be a “social sidekick”. So as it goes now, once you leave your computer, all the connections you have made through the generic social networking sites stay with your computer, but they are trying to change that. They are doing it completely with Ruby on Rails and those opportunities are pretty rare in themselves. Send me a message back or call me at 818-990-5723 and I’ll be able to give you some more information. Thanks Nick!
P.S. If you think that this is something that isn’t going to be a fit, please forward it on to someone who you think would be interested. Thanks again.
